PoE is Power over Ethernet. It is a switch that provides data and the DC power for a wireless device or IP camera over the CAT5 or CAT6 cable. The switch provides 15.4 watts of power per port. A 48VDC power supply is required for the switch and must be ‘sized’ to handle all the PoE ports and the power required for the switch functions.
