  • They are able to detect not only metals but non-metallic objects too.
  • The change in capacitance is measure of object detected.
  • The electrostatic field produced by concentric conductors is interrupted by object near it changes capacitance formed by it.
  • The change in capacitance is derived by oscillatory, triggering & modulating circuits
