Coriolis water cut

Hi Everyone,

Our test separator from Coriolis isn’t providing an accurate figure for water cut when compared to lab analysis.

Is there a setting that needs to be checked?

Regards

When experiencing inaccuracies in the water cut measurement from a Coriolis test separator, there are several settings and factors that can be checked to troubleshoot the issue.

Water cut measurement from a Coriolis test separator

Here are some suggestions:

Calibration: Ensure that the Coriolis test separator is properly calibrated. Calibration plays a crucial role in obtaining accurate measurements. Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for calibration procedures and verify that it has been performed correctly.

Fluid Properties: Check that the fluid properties being measured align with the settings configured in the Coriolis test separator. Ensure that the correct fluid density and viscosity values are entered into the device. Inaccurate fluid property settings can lead to incorrect measurements.

Flow Rate: Verify that the flow rate through the Coriolis test separator is within the specified range for accurate measurements. Ensure that the flow rate is stable and consistent during the measurement process. Variations in flow rate can impact the accuracy of water cut readings.

Sensor Maintenance: Regularly inspect and clean the Coriolis sensors to prevent any buildup of contaminants or residues that may affect measurement accuracy. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for proper maintenance and cleaning procedures.

Installation: Review the installation of the Coriolis test separator, particularly the sensor positioning and alignment. Ensure that the sensors are correctly installed and aligned with the flow path, as improper installation can introduce measurement errors.

Sampling and Laboratory Analysis: Consider cross-verifying the water cut measurements obtained from the Coriolis test separator with laboratory analysis. If there is a significant discrepancy between the two, it may indicate an issue with the device or the measurement technique. Consult with the manufacturer or a technical expert to investigate further.

If these steps do not resolve the issue or you require more specific guidance, it is recommended to reach out to the manufacturer’s support team or a qualified service technician for further assistance. They can provide expertise tailored to the particular Coriolis test separator model and help troubleshoot and address the inaccuracies you are experiencing.
