Precautions for the installation of Electromagnetic Flowmeter

The electromagnetic flowmeter is an instrument for measuring the volume flow of the conductive fluid through the electromotive force induced by the applied magnetic field according to “Faraday electromagnetic induction principle”.

It consists of two parts, the sensor and the converter. It is suitable for measuring the flow of conductive liquid and slurry in closed pipes, such as clean water, sewage, various acid and alkali salt solutions, mud, pulp, pulp and food liquids.With the development of industrial technology, the advancement of agricultural science and technology.

Due to its own advantages and characteristics, the use of electromagnetic flowmeter has been increasing every year.

At the same time as the amount of use is increased, the following items must be noted in the installation of the electromagnetic flowmeter:

The electromagnetic flowmeter should be installed in the correct position.

Installation method

(1) It should be installed at the lower and vertical upwards of the horizontal pipe to avoid installation at the highest point and vertical downward of the pipe;

(2) It shall be installed on the place above the pipeline;;

(3) Installation in the open discharge pipe should be installed at the lower part of the pipe;

(4) If the pipe drop exceeds 5 m, install an exhaust valve downstream of the sensor;

(5) The control valve and the shut-off valve should be installed downstream of the sensor. The manufacturer can be contacted by connecting the front 130, middle 2329 and back 0389, instead of installing them upstream of the sensor;

(6) The sensor must not be installed at the inlet and outlet of the pump and should be installed at the outlet of the pump.

2.The size of the electromagnetic flowmeter should be accurate. If there is an error, it may lead to the installation failure or the installation is not strict enough, which may lead to leakage.

3.The flow direction of the medium fluid must be consistent with the flow arrows on the sensor table.

4.The electrode axis of the electromagnetic flowmeter must be approximately horizontal, otherwise the measurement accuracy will be affected.

5.The flanges on both sides of the flowmeter sensor must be parallel and parallel, otherwise leakage is likely to occur.

6.It must be ensured that the process piping, seals, and flowmeter coaxial connections cannot be staggered in order to avoid vortex flow after installation.

7.When installing the flowmeter, it is strictly forbidden to weld the welding at the flange of the flowmeter to avoid burning the lining of the flowmeter.

8.For different process pipelines, the corresponding grounding method should be used (see sensor grounding).

9.For corrosive media, it should be installed vertically, and the measured medium flows from bottom to top. This can prevent solid particles from depositing in the flowmeter pipe, making the lining corrosion uniform and prolonging the service life.

10.For the diameter of the measuring tube is more than 200mm,the expansion joint should be used.

11.For places with large temperature changes or high temperature radiation, heat insulation and ventilation measures shall be taken during installation.

12.For corrosive gas environments, protective measures must be taken during installation.

13.The flowmeter is best installed indoors. If it is installed outdoors, it should be protected from rainwater, water soaking and sun exposure. It must be protected from moisture and sun.

14.In order to facilitate installation, maintenance and maintenance, there must be sufficient installation space around the flowmeter.

15.The installation site should avoid magnetic fields and strong vibration sources. If the pipeline is vibrating, there should be fixed pipe supports on both sides of the flowmeter.

16.In order to ensure stable flow measurement, the straight pipe section before and after the flowmeter should meet the first 10 times diameter and the last 5 times diameter.

17.In order to ensure the accuracy of flow measurement, the flowmeter must ensure full pipe, that is, the liquid fills the pipeline.
