A device that is mechanically connected to the valve stem and will generate and transmit either a pneumatic or electric signal that represents the valve stem position.

Usually, this type of a position transmitter particularly for converting linear valve stem movement into radial motion of the sensor of a transmitter doesn’t work properly. Converting linear motion into radial one always generates gain that in turn induces very large inaccuracies.
