Why is necessary to separate home run / Main cable for AO and AI signal?

Why is necessary to separate home run / Main cable for AO and AI signals, when they are connected to the same junction box

Hi,

Now a days we are using both Analog Input (AI) and Analog Output (AO) signals together in a Main Cable or Home Run Cable. Even using same Junction Box. Practically there will be no issue in many cases. well there may be few depends on specific application where different Main cable or Junction Box may require.

But remember its not ideal to combine Digital Input (DI) and Digital Output (DO) signals in a Single Main Cable/ Home Run Cable as Power ratings of DI & DO Signals are entirely different. In Most Cases, DI signals are less voltage signals like 12V DC or 24V DC with Less amperes as these are mostly for feedback signals whereas the DO Signals carry high power like 24V DC with 2 Amperes current or more, for example for powering up solenoid valves (power ratings will vary from type to type), even DO signals may have 110V DC, 230V AC Power signals also. So its not ideal to combine DI & DO Signals in a Main Cable or in a Junction Box.
